The rewriten version of the Pheonix, the first novel I ever came up with.
In the ancient past, humans found they tired of the rule of the five gods, and sought to kill them. The humans quickly discovered that the gods could indeed be killed in battle, even though the years could not touch them. A fierce battle ensued, and the humans finally made their way up to the castle of the gods. Once inside, they managed to assasinate the god Fire. The other gods heard of this immediatly and tore into the human forces, killing every one.
The gods found themselves without one of their own, and his power was quickly fading away. In order to keep his creation in the world, they sealed his power in a human body. This is the Pheonix, a god in the body of one of the species that killed him. As he dies, he is reborn. The god is forced to regain his powers one by one, life by life, as he quests to regain his last power of imortality, and regain his seat among the gods.
