Time Travel

In 19 years I've had some dreams...
Seen plenty of shit and lots of things...
It all began that cold November day...
When darkness was illuminated by a lovely shade...
Raised in a stable christian home...
Plenty of nifty toys and a big yard to roam...
A picture perfect example of an interracial relationship.
So innocent and care free, with a crib for a ship.
My mother was my teacher using my home for a school...
Instilling deep truths and knowledge with the bible as my tool.
Ahead of the curve due to 1 on 1 attention.
Still feeling alone, having dark premonitions.
Out of the nest and into a world of legislation.
Sent off to private school, to blur my views on this nation.
Color was stripped and I only saw white.
Confused about my identity cuz my skin was not trite.
My personal World War was taking place at home...
Razors hurt more as the blood drowned the chrome...
Assaulting innocent victims with words of inferiority.
Finding refuge in my bowflex for muscles of superiority.
Equipped with a short fuse and a prison guards tactics.
Fighting my own father prepared me for shattering brace brackets.
My only companion was my basketball...
Getting away for hours while the jump shots fall...
Waching a marriage rip apart at the seams...
Haunted by the visions that I saw in my dreams...
Awakening in darkness hearing demons conspire...
Scorching ants in my spare time igniting tentacles in fire...
Replaying the phone indenting my sisters skull...
Even repressing the fact that it ever happened at all...
A front row seat to Dad being arrested...
Taking my faith to jail along with the time he invested...
Forever uprooting the foundation of my family tree...
Vowing never to show a reflection of him in me...
Rebelling against all powers on the highway to hell...
Rotting away internally with no way to tell...
Embraced by a Coach who believed in my life...
I picked up my head and put down the knife...
Forgetting the pain when the ball went in the basket...
It all came flooding back when I peered in his casket...
Taken by God when I needed him most...
Working hard on my game so to him I could boast...
Alcohol knocked on my door and I let him in...
Never again seing a full season due to my chronic sin...
My dreams of a college scholarship came crashing down...
Along with my future, girls, and the winterfest crown...
Drugs were the perfect hideaway for me to withdraw...
Then came the shrooms and incredible things I saw...
Not your normal trips due to my genotype...
Things you can't fathom and I could never type...
Suddenly my future doesnt look so bright...
Apocolyptic intutions I now feel at night...
Solidified daily by what i see on the news...
Minds scrutinized by the media leaving all confused...
Daniel and the Rev paint a picture of the present...
I hope when i cast my first vote the anti-christ's not running for president...
