Independent Funk

~INDEPENDENT FUNK~…let me explain what this ‘word’ is all about right here…coz my sister is kinda like…confused..what does this independent funk word that I’m using mean…and I’m sure some people out there also might be wondering what it’s all about…actually it’s a song by this all-female rap group called ‘Salt N’ Pepa’ ..I just search it out somewhere..sometimes ya know…I get 2 look for unusual song lyrics…that I could use…and I want something about ‘independence’…so I search the word like ‘independent’ and then…the results came out..there was one…and that’s this song ‘Independent Funk’ by Salt N’ Pepa…I’ve never known about the song..and I never heard it actually…but thought it (the title) seems kinda cool so I look it all up…I go through the words…the lyrics and come across words that I thought…well..”I’m gonna get this..I’m gonna use this”…I like this…I want this…I can relate to this part…it’s cool..ya know??’ so I took the main word independent funk…and several others…something like “No one can stop me…this is my independent funk…” stuff like that…so that was it…I’m using it but I got my own meaning to it…independent of the song…

For me “INDEPENDENT FUNK” is something like…”this is my thing..my own thing…I’ll do my thing”…and I’m doing my thing independent of others…independent of what others do…say or put out..’coz that’s basically their thing…and this is mine..like I am free to say, express and do whatever I want…and no one can stop me…I am free to be who I wanna be…because this is ~who I am~…free from what other’s will say & think I should be…I should do…or whatever…independent of my sisters (‘coz that’s who they are)…or anybody…independent of what & who I used to be…and where I was…know what I’m saying??...and then ‘FUNK” which basically means ‘thing’ for me…it’s something like “I wanna be different”….like this is my identity…my individuality…
