a poem by Gabriel Boz

It was said that a lake flows through my veins.
With cold waters, deep and dark.
My shores have rocks just like my heart.
You can easily hurt your feet and feel the cold.
But some day you'll touch the surface,
feeling my water at your skin,
pouring trough your fingers drops of my soul.

You will watch the wind rumbling the waters, making little waves.
You will look across the water mirror, wondering about the mystery.
Trying to see the monster, knowing it doesn't really exist.
Just propaganda to keep people away.
But you won't leave.
And in a bright summer day
you'll give me that smile, only with your eyes
and will jump into my waters.

You will be the first one to do that.
Instead of just contemplating my wide and deep dreams.
Instead of making complements about the landscape around me.
You will swim across my heart
and I'll embrace you with warm waters and soft flowing streams.
Keeping you safe from drowning
and loving you forever.
