When Ebenezer Scrooge sits in his office, who knows what he'll say?
How positively crude! Every day I have to walk in that biting weather to get here and listen to people whine about not having enough money, or telling me about some blasted program in Cork Street. Do they not know that I have other more important matters to observe?

Honestly, I think that there is some conspiracy going on. Clearly, no one is doing this on their own accord. About eighty people barge into my office and complain about the strangest things you ever heard of. One fellow just decided to spread some “Christmas cheer” around and asked me if I wanted to give some charity money. I wisely excused him from my presence.

And then there’s my clerk, that Cratchit man. Every time he opens his mouth only stuff and nonsense come out. Why, even today he gave me a “Merry Christmas”. Huh. He could eat rotton cabbage soup every day of the year and still find something entertaining about it!

Don't even remind me about Fred. The boy's poorer than Cratchit, but still, he keeps that disgustingly thrilled smile on his lips without a care! I cannot think of what he will become of in the future! Having no personal experience in good business, I think he will have definite financial problems in the future, mark what I say!

The whole of it all is nonsense. Why have Christmas at all if everyone bothers me constantly? Bah! Humbug!
