a writer's poem, for anyone who writes against the opposition from others.
They Say

Writing is my passion
Without it, i can't live
But those who want to snatch it away from me
They'll never understand.
Think for the future, they say
Get a real job, they say
Words won't put food on the table
Or money in your hands, they say
Only one in a million make it,
And those that do, are lucky.
Their talent is enormous,
And still, for all that, they get little.
I don't care.
Hunger is nothing compared to starving of the soul.
No, they'll never understand.
To live life in misery,
It's better to be dead.
My art is my soul,
I can't change that.
You can't change me, either.
My life is my life
Your life is yours.
Even if I fail,
Even if I'm poor,
I'll still be happy,
And that...
That is more than you can say.
