Hiya folks! Here I am back as a guest editor for Contests and Activities!
WDC is known to encourage authors and provide all kinds of fun challenges to test our skills. Way back in 2002 our hosts began to run site contests where worthy competitors could win Cash prizes as well as the cool merit badges! So let's have a peek.

It is that time again! Each month WDC offers a site contest to challenge paying members to engage their muses, powers, talents and imagination to potentially win a BIG prize and shine!
For this month of October the contest is "What a Character! : Official WDC Contest" ! This was created in 2010.
It is a short story contest where you write a story that makes us want to root for the antihero or protagonist! Character development is the key element.
You enter privately by submitting your item to the survey on the main page of the contest.
The entries are reviewed by a panel of Moderator or Sr. Moderator judges, who score each one according to the criteria for each theme. The panel changes with each contest.
The best one wins $100.00, a what a character badge, virtual and physical edition! Second and Third prizes also win cash and the badges. Fabulous rewards.
Have fun entering this one NOW and....
a suggestion from Lornda~Thoughts with Bikerider , begin thinking of goals for 2020 as preparation for January's "Dear Me: Official WDC Contest" . It is a popular one that everyone can engage with and it runs every January.
This was one of the first site contests in 2002!
"Rhythms & Writing: Official WDC Contest" runs in July and the prompt for the fiction writing is music.
The others rotate from month to month:
"Journey Through Genres: Official Contest" involves a challenge to write in a certain genre. Created in 2011.
"Quotation Inspiration: Official Contest" involves fictional writing 2000 words or less. Created in 2007.
"Short Shots: Official WDC Contest" inspires writing to a quotation as prompt. Created in 2007.
"What a Character! : Official WDC Contest" involves character development prompt. Created in 2014.
The details are clearly defined on each page and you can edit UP to the deadline! Just make sure you read the rules so you are not disqualified!
So if you are a paying member from basic to premium, what are you waiting for? Create a bad guy and make us like him!
And, hey reviewers, check out the fabulous contest "Good Deeds Get CASH!" , created in 2012 to give tribute to the act of reviewing, which is a major activity at WDC! At the end of each review page, there is a box that says "Good Deeds for Cash"! Check it to enter your worthy reviews.
Now get writing and reviewing!
Have fun.
