About This Newsletter

Hi New authors and readers! I am happy to be a guest editor for this edition. I have been busy reading in "CLOSED!The Monthly Reading ChallengeOpen in new Window. and doing Product reviews and thought it would be helpful to share about this feature of WDC! *Delight*

Letter from the editor

*Think*What is a Product Review?

*Bookopen* A product review is a thorough critique of a product, such as books, DVDs, music, software, videos and video games. The review is given by the person who has listened, read or watched the product and therefore is able to tell other people about the product.

A great element of this service is you get to do reviews yourself! *Delight* It is even open to FREE membership levels. *Heart*

*Binoculars* Where do I Find Access to the Product Reviews?

*Quill*We can review items on sites such as Amazon etc. and so we can review here at WDC for WDC authors as well.

Under the Create a New Item tab and under your MY ACCOUNT tab on the side bar you can find a tab for PRODUCT REVIEWS.

In your account tab list you can see all the Product reviews you have done and also a link to Create a new one.

In Create New Item, when you click on Product Review, it will open to a page to begin. You need to have the ASIN number of the item you want to review... there is a link there for you to go to Amazon.com to locate the ASIN number. Easy!

Once you click the Check and Review: a page will appear for you to fill out your commentary. *Smile*

*Quill*How do I do a Product Review?

Once you have the page open you will see a number of rating or message boxes each with a subtitle:
*Star*Ratings out of 5:

You can choose which sections apply or that you wish to add your honest views.
Then you submit it.

I keep this list handy so when I am reading I can jot things or at least keep in mind what I might want to share. *Wink*

If you wish to share it with others here at WDC, you use the link {pr:112952} or {bpr:112952}.
A short example: "Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life"  Open in new Window.

*Thinker*Why Do Product Reviews?

Points of view can be enlightening, helpful and influencial in assisting readers and authors alike. Sometimes titles of works do not give the idea of content, or what we think is in a book especially as we only see what is online as opposed to actually handling the book at a book store. *Wink* Our sharing can shed some light on whether the theme or info within a book is relevant or interesting to us. I just bought a book on haiku and while it had awesome info and writings in it, it was not what I thought it was and more complex than a beginners work that I expected. but who knew by the title? LOL Had I known more, I might have sought a different title for my needs.
So, while, yes, reviews are points of view and we all like and dislike different things, the product review done this way, can still give a good idea of what it is all about, level of content etc and who it might appeal to.

You can meet authors at W.C. by reading product reviews, and if you like what they have reviewed, you have something similar to talk about...good way to meet people.*Delight*

You can read and get to know WDC author's works and assist them to get known and gift your feedback.
And of course, readers of others, often get read!*Star*

There is also a lovely incentive program and a place to share our Product Reviews by Others! You can participate here if you like:
