Fun at the Forum!
Now some may be asking how are forums related to the theme of this theme? Some of us already know!
FORUMS host a multitude of activities, contests, chats, groups and challenges that might not be fit for static items, especially if they involve having responses from participants and they provide more space that the IN and Out items as well.
To create a forum, you go to CREATE NEW ITEM and click on the word Message FORUM instead of STATIC and fill out the page.
The difference is that you will have a forum to put messages in, and you are able to link the forum to items like contest or banks.
and Guess what? Contests are in forums too. To make a bank, you actually choose GROUP item.
WDC has a maze of magical entertainments for all muses, readers, writers, and kind benefactors! If you go to the side bar tab SEARCH by TYPE, you can click forums and find a whole load! I was playing around in there and found some cool ideas that perhaps you never saw. I certainly am always looking for ideas so here are some forum originals!
We know contests are abundant, review forums are stellar and fundraisers pop up when there is a need! I won't focus on them today but how about one of the oldest forums like "Writing.Com General Discussion" and the kindness generating "RAOK Upgrade Brigade Group" and very relevant "Noticing Newbies" ! The WDC support team always here to serve and keep a finger on the pulse of it community. Eighteen years and counting!
How about supporting readers? The appealing "CLOSED!The Monthly Reading Challenge" and the shiny "Rising Stars Book Club" fit the niche.
Then other kind creators like to be there for writers: "Invalid Item" and "October Novel Prep Challenge" . The very popular "NaNoWriMo Write-A-Thon" invites WDC authors join our own NaNoWriMo event so look for it some time next month!
I also like "I Write in 2018" and it focuses on writing and reviewing! Some of us need a challenge for the muse. Let me not forget the famous site item "The Writer's Cramp" that feeds us prompts daily and fires up our muse...a 10k winner every day for almost as long as WDC has been around. Whew!
I found guestbooks.... a way for people to introduce themselves, showcase special features and create a social connection in a friendly way! This one "Our Guest Book" has been here for 16 years working its magic! Expressions of gratitude are good vibes!
This one is cool as we know all about how setting intents keeps up focused...and a little incentive can sometimes be the push we need. "Weekly Goals" I was reading that sharing aloud can help solidify our WORD, keeps us accountable to gain success.
Here is one that really rocks..."Angel Product Reviews" ! WDC folks think of everything...so How about reviewing and posting in public? It is very inspiring and you can find some excellent reads. You might want to go to the lesser known "Published Books of WdC Authors Forum " and tell what you published and find out what your favorite WDC authors are publishing! Lots of links and interesting tips in here too.
There is even the fabulous and bold "SENIOR CENTER FORUM" and other forums that support causes or reach out to people with similar interests or concerns like "Invalid Item" .
The last one I want to mention that was a brilliant and kind notion is "White Case Memorial" , a special place to honour our members who have passed away.
There are as many choices, (oh did I mention Blogging? ) here that reflect the community aspect of WDC and most center around our love of expression in writing.
So...there is no way to mention all of the wonderful forums, and I hope this has given you a taste of what; out there, or givne you food for thought if you want to create one.
Do you have a favourite or unsung forum you want to plug! Let me know. And I can highlight it in my next contest newsletter or on the newsfeed!
