I am Annette and I will be your guest editor for this issue of Noticing Newbies.
But what are the practical implications of all those different levels for you?
Backup!
If your computer crashes and all your precious writing is gone, you can still find it here if you put it into your portfolio.
True story: I was once looking for one of my earlier writings. I searched through and old laptop that kept crashing. I searched through my desktop computer. I searched my back up CDs and thumbdrives. My whole book had gone missing. A year's worth of writing vanished. Where did I find it? Right here on Writing.Com.
Writing.Com has very powerful servers. While everything online might crash, this site has withstood the test of time.
Community!
The ability to create forums and groups at paid membership levels gives you an opportunity to create spaces within Writing.Com where you can gather with other members that pursue similar goals as you. Those goals might be writing in a certain genre. Reading and discussing books. Or even sharing pictures of your pets.
