Potpourri Poetry AKA Poetry Forms Found While Sitting On My Sofa Fighting a Cold

I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat and stuffy nose. The long grocery list demanded my attention, so rest wasn’t in my immediate future. Sometimes being a responsible adult isn’t easy, but I did have ice cream for lunch for my throat, so there is that, lol.
Finally, I was able to put my feet up. Ahhhhh. It was nice but my brain wanted more, so I researched some poetry. Mind you, my cold-addled brain couldn’t focus on anything for any length of time, but I found a couple poetry forms that held my interest long enough—mostly because they reminded me of comforting or intriguing things.

Cameo

I found this form comforting. It reminded me of my grandmother who passed away 16 years ago. She loved cameos, and collected them. I have a few of hers that she left me.
This form was so comforting to me I fell asleep for a bit after reading about it, lol.

MUST HAVES

--Line count: 7.
--Rhyme: None.
--Meter: Syllabic, with the following count: 2, 5, 8, 3, 8, 7, 2.

COULD HAVES or WHAT IS THE POET’S CHOICE IN ALL THIS?

--Topic: Whatever you like. Feel free to make it about a grandmother.
--Number of stanzas: One or more if you want to create a cameo chain.

Line Messaging

Once I woke up from my nap, I went back to discovering new poetry forms. This form caught my attention and held it with the “poetry-ception” fun (see the MUST HAVES below).

Angel Favazza, science fiction writer and poet, thought up this next form.

MUST HAVES

--Must utilize the last line of each stanza to create either a poem within the poem or a message that aligns with your topic.

COULD HAVES or WHAT IS THE POET’S CHOICE IN ALL THIS?

--Topic: Can be any, but the last line of each stanza works specifically to support it.
--Meter.
--Rhyme or not, it’s up to you.
--Number of stanzas.
--Line count.
