Do you ever get tired of editing and revising your pieces? I sure do. It's hard to make the time to do the things that are important sometimes, like revising and editing pieces that you have written. These skills are essential to being a great author so I'd like to encourage and reward you for using them.
This month's challenge is to revise one item that you have already written. The winners of the radical rewrite contest (linked below) will be announced in my issue of the For Authors Newsletter next month, on February 22nd, 2006.
As usual, I will be participating in the challenge. I cannot enter my own contest, but I'll rewrite a piece and report how that went next month.

Part 1: Submit a piece that you have written by Saturday, February 4th. It can be old or new. This piece must be submitted in bitem format (see "Invalid Item" ) and must be less than 3,000 words long. Only one entry per person.
Part 2: Rewrite the piece that you submitted in part one. Submit that piece as a new item in a bitem link by Wednesday, February 15th. You should have two items now, one is the old version and one the new version of your piece. It’s important that you don’t delete the first version until the contest has been judged!

First Place - Merit Badge (judge’s choice)
Second Place – 5,000 gift points
Third Place – 2,000 gift points
Honorable Mention(s) – 500 gift points
