Writing: A Roller Coaster

Once you're on it, there's only forward.

What really happens when you embark on a writing adventure?

Writing is an adventure in and of itself. No matter in which fiction genre you write in, while you're crafting those sentences, you're on an adventure. There are times when you think you are blocked. Somehow, the story doesn't want to flow out of you. Similarly to a roller coaster that stops and doesn't keep going for a while and you're stuck and have to wait for the engineers to figure things out.

As a writer, you are both passenger and engineer. You can choose to give in to that thing called writer's block, or you can chose to crack that whip and cross that rickety bridge of choppy sentences and weird plot points that try to lead you into traps.

One thing is certain: That rickety bridge of wonky story that ends up sideways is more writing than any writer's block can give you. As your action/adventure hero grabs his hat and his companion grabs her boots, travel along with them in their hot air balloon over mountains and oceans. Even if nothing happens, at least you got to travel.
