Letter from the editor

I’m reading my third David Eddings book. I’ll have to admit that after the first book I’ve read by him his writing didn’t enamor me. After reading a few mixed reviews, and none of them completely matched my opinion of him I decided to give David another chance. I picked up the “The Diamond Throne” which is the first book of “The Elenium” and started reading it. My first impression of him, being wordy and having a misplaced sense of humor, didn’t quite evaporate but I did acquire a new liking for the Fantasy genre.

The Diamond Throne brought together a slew of memorable characters into a well thought out plot. It is a mixture of might and magic, church knights fighting for their God and corrupt church leaders looking for wealth and power. It is a struggle between good and evil, turmoil between doing what is right and doing evil in the disguise of good. The relationships of sworn brothers, their order, their God and the companionship of one knight and his trusted steed. If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it…

And if you are wiser than your days, you’ll know not to ask me what the first David Eddings book was that I read.
