About This Newsletter

Belonging to a community like WDC means we get to showcase our stories and poems, exchange writing techniques and grammar tips, and encourage each other to improve in our crafts. This is also a place to share our struggles, so no one feels alone when their path takes a dip south or a blind curve looms up ahead. It's in that supportive spirit that I write this newsletter.

Letter from the editor

My life has taken some crazy turns in the past year. If I were writing it all down, it would have the potential for an epic novel. The funny thing is I haven't been writing at all. I'm typically inspired to write when I need distractions from life, or when life gets me down. Lately I haven't needed distractions and I've been up. Way up. I don't miss writing either. Mostly because I know I'll get back to it, one of these days.

One negative side effect of all the good in my life is the toll it's taken on my time at WDC. I miss my WDC family every day, but I just don't make my way over here with the frequency I used to. I will be back, when I'm writing again.

Until then, I'm going to step down as Moderator, leaving room for others to take my spot. I will still be around, reading your work and occasionally reviewing. WDC is, and will always be, my favorite home away from home.

I want to thank all of you who read my newsletters, who took the time to comment, and who supported me as Drama editor. I've had a wonderful time writing NL's, and I was always struck by how doing so each month was a teaching experience for me. I learned more about the craft of writing with each newsletter I penned.

Wishing you all the best!

Ask & Answer

BIG BAD WOLF Feeling Thankful Author Icon -- There is always something.

Quick-Quill Author Icon -- I truly agree with you about Heroines with too many problems. I hate reading a book when the MC goes on and on about her issues and why she needs help. If you are afraid of something, at some point you have to face it and get over it our the reader throws the book down and you have lost referrals.
