Welcome to the Noticing Newbies Newsletter!
Our goal is to showcase some of our newest Writing.Com Authors and their items. From poetry and stories to creative polls and interactives, we'll bring you a wide variety of items to enjoy. We will also feature "how to" advice and items that will help to jump start the creation process on Writing.com
We hope all members of the site will take the time to read, rate, review and welcome our new authors. By introducing ourselves, reviewing items and reaching out, we will not only make them feel at home within our community, we just might make new friends!

Over the next few of my newsletter issues I will highlight some groups and forums which you can turn to for support. There are a myriad of resources available right here on this site, and I'm sure there's at least one for every person.
The groups and forums range from those with specific backgrounds to those for people with common goals. They range from social interaction and fun to serious writing goals. Some are for inspiration, others for emotional support, and yet more to enable your generosity to reach those in need. There are forums for certain age groups, or portfolio case colour; and let's not forget the site competitions.
To browse the groups available, click on the "Groups" link at the top of the page (top of the third column of small type). Forums are listed in the first column. Want to search for a specific topic? Use the Power Search feature to look up keywords and set "Any Type" to either "Forums" or "Groups".
If you have a:
* specific group in mind and have no success in finding one, or
* suggestion for a type of support group that may be missing
send me an email (to Puditat ) or via the feedback form for this newsletter.
I'll start by introducing a few of my favourites:
For those writers who are serious about working towards being published.
This group provides twice monthly writing prompts in a number of different categories. For example, an Emotional Workshop, Reviewing Workshop, Spiritual Workshop, and more.
Members of this group commit to reviewing items submitted and get their own submitted items reviewed in return.
An active prayer support network covers members' needs faithfully.
Make some friends, share your highs and lows or just chill out in this friendly forum.
A long-running contest and prompt forum. A new prompt every twenty-four hours with GP's given to the best response each day. This is a great forum for breaking writer's block. It caters for both poetry and short stories.
If you need help with something on the site, post your queries here.
Next time I will focus on a particular area of support and post related forums/groups to go with it. Send any suggestions if you want to!
Thanks for reading.

Good job on the newsletter. THis is the first one I go to usually as I love to review newbie work, probably because "I are one." Thanks for the great service you perform. Has to be a very demanding job. I appreciate it.

Demanding..., No! *checks watch, scrolls through countless pages of Newbies' offerings, and scratches head for a topic* Thank you!
Thanks for pointing out for the Newbies (and reminding us Oldies) about some of the features of the site! ~Nikola

For 5000 gps (all goes to RAOK), we put a link to an item under the Reading List where the item will stay for a month and will be R/R'ed by several volunteer readers. For those who lack the gps, we have gratis placement available, due to donations. E-mail me or post a request in the forum.
An awesome opportunity for some exposure and reviews. Thanks Popcorn Joy.
