Adapting to Change
Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge. ~ Eckhart Tolle
One lesson I learned throughout my life is that unexpected things happen and that I can't control everything. While some unexpected events are bad, some can be very good! Some people tend to have a knee-jerk, negative reaction to change, but often if you look closer, you'll see that change can make things better.
Accept, even embrace, change!
One thing I love about Writing.Com is that the site is always changing, always getting better! I keep "Site News & Announcements" in my favorites so I can know about changes as soon as they happen. I love experimenting with new features!
Did you catch the Review Requests & Review Tab Announcement this week? So exciting! You can now request reviews from specific members! And don't forget to fill out your own review tab, so others can request reviews from you!
Did you know?
There is a Costumicon subscription offer going on right now! Costumicons for 100gps! Costumicons are normally only a feature for members with a Premium Membership (read about memberships here: http://www.writing.com/main/shop/cat/Memberships), and the current subscription will last through February 28th!
"Introducing Writing.Com Stock Covers!" gives us cool "Covers" images for our items! Here's an example:
“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see what others do.”. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Sometimes it's necessary to initiate change.
If you have a contest or activity that's not attracting many participants, try changing it up a bit before you throw in the towel! Ask participants for feedback on changes they might enjoy! Invite a guest host for a round or two. Take tips from contests & activities you like to participate in. Point is, don't give up!
There have been lots of great changes on the site, and I for one can't wait to see what comes out next!
Always keep on writing!

My last newsletter, ("Contests & Activities Newsletter (January 22, 2013)" ), discussed getting involved.
Hello, Spidey. Great newsletter! Thanks for highlighting "Newbie Help And Support Group" in this edition.
~Missy ~ Missy ~ EnjoyingBeingAMommy
You're welcome!
Thanks a million for highlighting my contest! The more newbies that are made aware of it will increase the entries. ! ~ ~ Santa Sisco ~
You're welcome!
One thing I'm doing to stay involved in 2013 is judging a new contest. I offered to be a judge and was lucky enough to be accepted. Should be an awesome, long-running contest!! ~ Elle - on hiatus
Sounds like fun!!
