This month's question: What advice could you give a new member?
Send in your answer below! Editors love feedback!
Last month I wrote about trying new genres. Here are the replies to last month's question: How successful are your attempts with new genres?
Dawn Embers replied: In answer to the question, it depends on the genre. I've tried a few times to write horror and just struggle with it every time. There is something about the genre that I just can't figure out. However, I tried erotica on the whim of "can I actually do it" and that was like 4 years ago. Now I run the Weekly Quickie and some know me for my m/m stories. I never thought I'd be able to write such when I joined. So, you never know unless you try.
Jeff answered: My attempts at other genres have all been successful in the sense that I learned something from the experience and am proud of the fact that I tried something new. In terms of quality, though... let's just say there are a few genres with which I'm not particularly proficient. |
