Internet Blues
We have been relying on the internet so long, we feel almost crippled when it's down! Here are a few ways to keep going.
I have been facing a lot of internet outages lately. We all have around my small town, and we have been feeling at least a little grumpy about it. I felt especially grumpy about it when I needed to write this exact newsletter, only to find that my net had gone down yet again!
It did remind me of something, though. While I depend on the Internet to store the majority of my creative works, it isn't my only outlet. It is amazing how I forgot that! Despite the fact that I used other means before I became so dependent on computers.
Here are just a few ways to manage the Internet Blues - at least until you have access again.
1. A Writing Notebook
Mine was, admittedly, one of those teeny ones small enough to fit in my purse or back pocket. I could not fit much on it, but I could fit enough to jot down ideas to jog my memory later. Writing.Com has some in its shop, and places like Wal-Mart have some for about a dollar. They are handy to keep around for many reasons! Especially writing.
2. Sticky Notes
I don't know about you guys, but I am a sticky-note-aholic. I have them everywhere, and I especially love them in incredibly bright colors. I even have one of my old writing notebooks covered in them. I would further secure them by taping the especially good ones in.
The best part about sticky notes is that you can attach them to the frame or screen of the computer with the offending Internet connection, and it will be right there when you need it!
3. Read a Book
Once you have written your ideas down, curl up with your favorite paperback and enjoy! While you can't review it like you can on this site, it might just hold you over for a little while. |
Let's take a look at some newbies! (This is the Noticing Newbies Newsletter, after all. And newbies are my favorites.)

I have never really considered blogs. I might as well start writing now.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful newsletter. The highlighted blogs were great.
I'm so glad you liked them! I greatly enjoyed looking up the new blogs to highlight, and was highly impressed by what was found. Make sure you let us know the link once you've made your new blog!

I'm so glad to hear it! Be sure to let us know when you are brave enough to share it.

Hehe. Thanks! This one isn't really mine, though I did do the photo manipulation to make it look as it does.

You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
