About This Newsletter

Everyone's afraid of something. Me, I'm terrified of clowns. But are they something to be feared, or just laughed at?

My name is darkin and I'll be your guest editor today. Don't look behind you, you never know if the clown behind you is up to no good....

Clowning Around With Evil

I have to admit, there is really only one thing in this world that truly terrifies me. No, it's not zombies. I can take care of a zombie with my eyes closed and a hand tied behind my back.

It's clowns!

Yeah, I know, they are a frequent entertainer at children's parties, circus acts and even grocery store openings. Everyone thinks they are funny and nice, but they still scare the tar out of me. Just the thought of a clown coming towards me; that fake red smile plastered on his face with thick makeup, those huge floppy shoes, and that hair. Makes me shudder just thinking about it.

Originally, clowns were jesters who kept The Royal Courts entertained. The earliest recording of a clown was a jester in the court of Pharaoh Dadkeri-assi during Egypt's Fifth Dynasty, around 2500 B.C. Through the years, clowns have entertained royalty in many lands - Egypt, China, Europe. When Cortez conqured in the Aztec Nation in 1520 A.D., he not only found they had jesters, he took many of them back with him. Even Native American tribes had some form of jester to keep the Chief happy.

Evil Clowns have been featured in books and movies for decades. There's something uber-scary about an evil clown that just makes movie goers scream. From Stephen King's It to Killer Clowns From Outer Space, evil clowns have haunted our dreams and nightmares!

The best part of having a clown be evil is you can make it as evil as you want. There are no "rules" that evil, killer clowns have to follow. So get down to writing some more evil clown horror. Send me the link when you finish, I could use some good, old-fashioned clown horror!

Thank you for taking the time to read. Happy Writing!

Ask & Answer

Sorry if I brought up any undue stress by revealing the true nature of clowns. Just remember, clowns are supposed to be a fun-loving friends. Unless, of course, they are harboring a darker, more sinister nature. BWAhahahahaha!!!!

Please let you know what you think. I'd love to hear from you.
