About This Newsletter

Each New Year is a different chapter in our journey through life. In each chapter, we encounter both endings and beginnings. Each year we also have a chance for a fresh start.

Letter from the editor

A new year is a new beginning, a time to make resolutions and to make a fresh start. The fresh start in the New Year caught my attention because of a December fire at an apartment complex in Las Vegas. The people escaped with only the clothes they wore, none received serious injuries. The apartment manager put them in empty apartments in the complex; locals donated enough furniture and other items to furnish the apartments.

A mother and daughter, who lost everything in the fire, gave an interview to one of the T.V. stations. Both mother and daughter had a positive attitude. They saw 2010 as a time for a fresh start, a new beginning; they had a chance to begin over and make there lives better. While most of us did not begin 2010 without any of the possession we had in 2009, we do have a chance for a fresh start.

As writers, we can begin a new story, we can take that story we put aside last year because of frustration and give it a new start. We can look at the resolutions we set last year, change them or set new resolutions this year. 2010 is time for a fresh start, perhaps even a change of direction; so take advantage of the New Year and move forward toward your goals.
