Leaving is such sweet sorrow, sweet because I'll still be around, but sorrow because unless I guest edit, I won't be contributing to this newsletter after this issue. I wrote my first A/A Newsletter in 2005, but I didn't become a regular editor until 2006 or 2007 - can't remember. But the important thing is, I enjoyed myself.

Saying Goodbye
How do action heroes say goodbye? "I'll be back" is one way we'll always remember. What are some of the other memorable farewells? Saying goodbye is an action that can lead to new adventures or take us away from others.
Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.
- Richard Bach
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
- J. R. R. Tolkien
Never say goodbye, say farewell.
- Author Unknown
Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
- Dr. Seuss
I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.
- Gilda Radner
The best things said come last. People will talk for hours saying nothing much and then linger at the door with words that come with a rush from the heart.
- Alan Alda
Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos.
- Charles M. Schulz
Then there's the one I grew up with
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.
- Dale Evans
I believe I'll just say farewell, because we will meet again. |

Words from Our Readers
StephBee
Viv! I love baseball, too! I'd love to write a couple more stories with baseball, but I struggle to come up with interesting plots.
The trick to writing interesting plots is to find one that can be worked around a ball team. That's what I did.
Doug Rainbow
Sports are often good metaphors for life and, in my opinion, the best sports stories take advantage of that. Most good sports stories have a non-sports counter-plot. That helps, too.
Yes, my books about baseball have mysteries woven in with the games and players and their interactions.
Dr Taher writes again!
Dear Viv,
Thanks as ever for a nice newsletter. As you had written a NL on sports based items, I have one on cricket and one on "Nigochiaa" in my port. While the first is romantic-action, the second one is definitely action-action.
Oh, I hope many of the readers will visit your port and discover the treats that can be found there.
It's time to say farewell. I've enjoyed the years bringing you what information and ideas I could.
Maybe you'll visit me on Mystery Newsletter or For Authors.
