SEE-CEE-SEE-C-NOTES!:

*Bullet* A C-Note? What is that all about?

*Check1* Community Notes, or C-Notes for short, are considered virtual e-cards designed especially for the WDC community and its members, by its members.

*Bullet* What are they used for?

*Check2* Just as you would send any virtual card to a friend or loved one, WDC’s community notes act in the very same way. They are a great way to show your appreciation for a fellow member, be it for their writing, for a review you have received, or for their birthday celebrations, promotions, get-well wishes, encouragement, support and so much more.

*Bullet* So how is this an activity?

*Check3* It might not seem like it at first, but the actual creation of such c-notes is a task that is fun and entertaining, especially when you create cards that are funny and out of the ordinary. There are so many designs and ideas you can choose to do, provided they are done for a specific purpose and can appeal to an audience that appreciates whatever you were aiming for. Even the act of giving out c-notes to members is a great way to keep in touch and to let them know that you are thinking of them. Some are quite inexpensive and for a small fee, sending a c-note is bound to cheer up anyone.

*Bullet* How do I go about making these c-notes?

*Check4* You must first decide on a theme. You can choose to focus on cards for only birthdays or promotions or get-well wishes. You can decide to use only flower images or animal images. How about hand-drawn pictures? Those are a nice touch and definitely something unique. Do you want to create a c-note shop filled with humorous messages/cards? Then go for it. However, there are a few things to keep in mind before setting up shop.

*Note*Only members with upgraded memberships will be able to create c-notes or use and upload images to their portfolio. [To learn more about upgrades, you can check out:"Compare Free and Paid Membership BenefitsOpen in new Window. [E]]

*Bullet* There is a 10-image limit to each c-note shop, although you can choose to have less than 10 images for your shop.

*Bullet* You must have these images already created and then saved into your portfolio. I would recommend setting up a folder to house these images, so it’s a bit more organized. [Learn how to upload images to your port by going here: "Image Item InfoOpen in new Window. [13+]]

*Bullet* Go to ‘Create a New Item’ and choose the ‘Community C-Note’ option. Keep in mind that you do NOT upload any of your c-notes on this particular page! (that seems to be the most confusing part of things). As you would in creating any other static item in your portfolio, this page gives you the option of setting up your … lobby (if you will). It’s the first thing the visitor will see when he/she visits your shop, so you can either type in your welcome message or put in your shop banner header or any other information you want in the box provided.

*Bullet* Save and view. NOW, you have the main set up page ready. However, we need to upload the c-notes. How do we do that? Look at the top of the item, right below the title of your shop. In the narrow black menu bar, there should be an option that says ‘MANAGE’. Take the time to familiarize yourself with each link that shows up on the page, getting to know what each one does.

*Bullet* Here is a link that should give you a better idea of how to create c-notes. I recommend adding it to your favorites and referring back to it if you are not quite sure of what to do.
