About This Newsletter

The contests and activities on this site are constantly changing! Almost every day there is something new and exciting to view and participate in. The ideas are endless. Some succeed, some manage to get along, while others, unfortunately, are left behind and forgotten. My goal as your Contest & Activity newsletter editor is to provide each of you with the tools it takes to create a great success.

The Importance of Following-Through

The auction's deadline has passed, the winners have been announced, the GPs have been collected and properly dispersed. So, as the auction's host, you're done, right?

Wrong.

Anybody can collect a handful of donations, list them in a forum, and collect the gift points once the deadline has passed. What truly makes a superb auction host is following through. If MemberX bid on and won 5 reviews from MemberZ, it is up to you, as the auction host, to contact MemberX after a time to make sure they have recieved the 5 reviews. If they haven't, it should not be too much of an inconvenience for you to contact MemberZ on behalf of the person that donated to your cause. Right?

If MemberZ has fulfilled their obligations to MemberX, all is well and you can cross them off of your list of things to worry about. But, what if MemberZ doesn't get back to you and after several attempts to get ahold of them, the reviews are still not sent?

At this point, it is up to you to settle things with MemberX. Luckily, most people should be understanding if the fault is MemberZ's, but as the auction host, you should do all you can to see that MemberX recieves what they deserve. This can be done in the form of returning the gift points, offering to do the reviews yourself, or, if the prize is not reviews, making an offer of equal value. One original offer is giving the member "credit" in a future auction/raffle equal to their last donation, but you should only offer this if another activity is already in progress or about to begin soon.

It is a shame that people like "MemberZ" are around the site, but by stepping up and following-through, you will earn the respect and appreciation of "MemberX" and perhaps have a dedicated follower to your future activities.

Ask & Answer

*Question*Hi. I was just wondering when the 'Season Ticket' contest winners will be announced. Or were they, and I missed it? -- tootender

*Exclaim*Greetings! The Season Tickets raffle winners have been announced. Go to "Season TicketsOpen in new Window. [E] to see who won. You can also see just how many gift points were raised for RAOK (17,002,038 GPs for those of you that are too lazy to click over). What an amazing season for 2006's Season Tickets. I can't wait to see how much we can raise next time! What about you?
