The contests and activities on this site are constantly changing! Almost every day there is something new and exciting to view and participate in. The ideas are endless. Some succeed, some manage to get along, while others, unfortunately, are left behind and forgotten. My goal as your Contest & Activity newsletter editor is to provide each of you with the tools it takes to create a great success.

One activity that has soared in popularity, not only on Writing.Com, but also on the Internet in general, is blogging. For those of you that don't know "blog" came from "web log", and that's just what it is, a log about anything on the web. Blogs can be used to discuss any range of topics and are most popularly used as online diaries. Writing.Com has a great blog system and anyone who is Upgraded+ can have a blog. If you're not upgraded, having a blog is only one of the many perks that come with the upgrade.
How to Set Up Your Blog:
1. First, create a book item from the Writing webpage (linked at the top of every Writing.Com webpage). There is no "blog" option in the item create page, simply make the book item as a journal.
2. Once you have created the item, get the item number.
3. Go to "My Account" and choose "Edit Account Text & Special Settings".
4. Scroll down a little over halfway until you see "Blog Item". Put the item number in the provided box, then click the "Submit Changes" button. Remember, this will ONLY work with book items. Trying to put any other item in this box will not work.
5. Create your first entry and have fun blogging! Your blog will be accessible from the blog list for other members to find, read, and comment.
Question for Next Month:
Do you participate in campfires? What makes a campfire worth joining? What questions do you have about running a campfire? |
Have an opinion on what you've read here today? Then send the Editor feedback! Find an item that you think would be perfect for showcasing here? Submit it for consideration in the newsletter! https://www.Writing.Com/go/nl_form
