Letter from the editor

Dear readers,

I have the honour of being your guest Editor this week. I hope that you will enjoy what I have to say, though I admit that after spending about four and a half hours on a job application form my head is a bit fuzzy.

You may wonder how my mention of job hunting is relevant to a Spiritual Newsletter. We all have things in life that aren't easy to do, and we are all busy people. Sometimes we don't have time to spend on writing. Or even visiting Writing.Com.

One of the reasons I visit this site is because life is not always easy. When I am stressed, and need a bit of a pick-me-up, I browse around for something to read. It's not difficult to find inspirational items on this site. There may be a poem that makes me smile, or an uplifting story. I may be reminded that though life seems difficult, there is hope. That other people have been where I am and made it through just fine. That this, too, can be overcome.

I love it when a piece makes me smile, or laugh, or cry. I love being touched by someone else's words. I love it when a writer reaches out to me, and affects me. I love it when I am reminded that I should write down my own experiences and hopefully touch someone else in return.

Sometimes I feel guilty that I am not writing for the Lord. I only have one or two pieces relating directly to my experiences with God and my love for Him. But upon reflection, I think that every piece written to give others hope and to bring some light to their day is writing for the Lord. God has given us the means and the inspiration to share what is within us. Every item that touches someone else's heart and soul is spiritual in its very own way.

I am currently in between jobs, and that makes life none too easy. Hunting for a job is difficult, filling out application forms and “selling myself” is draining. I think it is time to browse around for your words of inspiration, and perhaps find the inspiration to share some words of my own.

If you feel that your work is not important, think back to reviews you have received. If ever someone has told you your work made them smile, laugh, cry, or brought some light to their day, you've made a difference. There's always someone in need of a bit of hope and inspiration. So keep inspiring *Smile*.
