Should you choose a blank book or a meditation journal with quotes in it? Does the type of journal you choose make a difference?
I recently started a new meditation journal. This one is a three month spiritual growth and gratitude journal. Contains quotes from the Baha'i sacred scriptures. Following the scripture is a section for reflections on the quote.
In the reflection section are thought provoking questions about the quote. There is also a place for a gratitude list. The other three ask what you can do better than yesterday, who you want to pray for, and notes about the day.
This is the second meditation journal I have had with quotes. The last one contained quotes from various translations of the Christian scriptures. There was room to write your thoughts, but no questions were ask about applying the scriptures to your daily life.
The important thing to remember when choosing a meditation journal is to pick one that will help you. Once you have chosen the journal you need to decide on two things. First a time to meditate. Second an approach. I meditate in the morning. I begin by saying a prayer and then read the scripture.
