Plug Your Writing in the Right Places
New writers on the site get a 30 day "Newbie" boost. All the items they create and post get listed on Read A Newbie . But what happens after that? It's easy to fall into obscurity. There are thousands of stories, poems, blogs, books, conversations, and more on the site.
Where can you go to stand out from the rest?
There are several pages where you can plug your work.
"The Shameless "Plug" Page" and "The GC+ Shameless "Plug" Page" want to stop being shy. Instead, be shameless and "Show off your own or someone else's item."
Do you have a blog that you want to be seen? This one is for you: "The Blog Board" .
Sometimes, the above plug pages aren't the right choice. You can request reviews at "Please Review" .
While the Newsfeed is a fine place to show off activities that you want to offer, it limits your exposure to those who log on at the exact right time. You are better off advertising your activities on "Activities @ Writing.Com" .
The same goes for contests. To create a longer lasting record of a contest that you offer, go to "Writing Contests @ Writing.Com" .
Please Read the Rules!
Every Plug Page has rules. They are listed at the top of the page. Sometimes, there are additional reminders next to the area where you submit your item ID and your description.
Make sure to read these rules. They are simple enough. There are a few moderators who go down the lists on occasion to clean up them up. If you find a notification that your item was deleted from one of the Plug Pages, it went against one of the rules.
A typical reason to remove a listing is a contest that was posted on the activities page. The moderator is not trying to bully you. Keeping the pages within their intended use is good for the whole community.
Have any of your items been deleted from a Plug Page by a Moderator? |
Have an opinion on what you've read here today? Then send the Editor feedback! Find an item that you think would be perfect for showcasing here? Submit it for consideration in the newsletter! https://www.Writing.Com/go/nl_form

Replies to my last Noticing Newbies newsletter "We Are All Stars Here" that asked Have you received a review with very low stars for an item that wasn't THAT bad?
tracker wrote: This is terrific advice. A great reminder for reviewers. On Editor's pick by Elisa: Snowman Stik came up as an invalid item. Thanks for your well organized reminders, Annette.
Hello Tracker, the item works. Its title is "Invalid Item." Try clicking on the link. It will take you to a real item. "Invalid Item" |
