About This Newsletter

It's been sometime since I wrote a Halloween based poem or story, so I'm looking for some ideas?

Letter from the editor

Where do you get your ideas for Halloween stories or poems? Some of mine come from childhood memories. Others come from documentaries I've seen on television. Some of the documentary ideas are more frightening than the childhood memories.

What does Halloween mean to you? Is it a day to take your kids trick or treating? Do you attend Halloween parties? Do you celebrate it as religious holiday? Can you use one of those as an idea for a poem or story?

If you research this holiday you will find numerous frightening myths about this holiday. Trick or treating goes back several centuries and wasn't always just for children getting treats. It had a much darker beginning.

Can you write a fantasy or science fiction story about a Halloween myth?
