You Are HereX

Okay, so you are here. "Here" as in you are a member of Writing.Com. We are happy you are here! We aren't just saying that. New members are what keeps things feeling fresh and interesting around the site.

To get the most out of your membership you need to know that more than anything else, we are a community of writers. What makes this place work the way it does is member participation.

Wait, did I just lose you? Hang on, it isn't as bad as you might think.

If social interaction is not usually your thing, you will find that the site is full of introverts of every stripe (with a few extroverts thrown in for good measure). How much you interact and participate is completely up to you. You may find, however, that the more you dive in and positively interact with the community, the better your experience will be.

A great place to start is the COMMUNITY NEWSFEED. My last Noticing Newbies Newsletter covered this subject completely, so I will refer you back to it "Making It HappenOpen in new Window..

But wait, there's more! *Bigsmile* There are all sorts of activities on WdC that you will discover as you spend time here, but I would like to mention some that encourage either member-to-member interactions or are places for members to share a bit about themselves. Click on the heart of any activity you would like to put in your Favorites for easy future reference.

These first two are official WdC-sponsored forums. You may have discovered one or both of them already. If you are a newbie you may post in the Noticing Newbies forum (but any member can respond). The General discussion forum is for any member to post. People post about all sorts of stuff. It is fun to go back and see what kinds of things people have discussed.
