Life without action is static, and by necessity, it would therefore be dead. Action writing takes the normal and shares it for all to live vicriously.
Adventure is the spice: the exciting, adrenalin-pumping, thrill that makes one feel so alive. Everyone has an adventuresome spirit. Maybe dreams of excavating some long-lost treasure, visiting a new country, or trying a new flavour of potato chip. Some of us prefer our adventures to come between the pages of a book, and many of us like to write that adventure.
Thank you to all those who participated in nominating their top 5 movie favourites. I got a great response and was excited to see films I had temporarily forgotten about. Many of my own favourites are echoed in the nominations.
There are also a couple of films I have never heard of, so I'll have to take your word on them being A/A movies. There are some I've heard of, but never seen.
Perhaps interesting is the exclusion of some films from the nominations. Are there any you're surprised did not get nominated?
So, without further ado, here is the first survey to narrow down the movies. There are 100 movies to choose from, and this first cut will bring it down to 50.
Make your selections carefully, and I look forward to the next issue where we get to narrow them down even further.
