Do children have rights? Yes! What are the rights of children? According to the Convention on the Rights of the child, children have the right to life, education, play, health, protection from violence, protection against discrimination, and to have their views heard.
How do we observe Universal Children's Day? There are numerous ways to observe this day with your children. One of the more common ways is to initiate an outdoor garden at the children's school. Spend time with your children by doing outdoor learning activities, such as gardening or bird watching.
Other ways to observe this day is to read to your children. Perhaps an age appropriate book that helps them understand nature or the world outside their own homes. You could also teach them about other cultures, which can be done through reading, videos, or visiting the cultural activities of other cultures. Another suggestion is to get them involved in a volunteer programs that needs children to volunteer.
The above is only a few of the ways we can observe Universal Children's Day, while assisting the education of our own children. What are some of the ways you are going to commemorate Universal Children's Day? Please submit any poems or stories you have on this subject to this newsletter. Deadline: December 8. Content rating: 18+ or less. |

Quick-Quill writes: I believe in the hereafter. While there is a grave for both my parents, they aren't there. In fact, my sister recently gave her heart to God, and I thought, I wished my mom and dad knew. I remembered a verse in the Bible that says All of heaven rejoices when a lost soul comes to the Lord. That's when I knew they knew she got saved. No better honor than that.
AmyJo-Thankful in heart writes: Thank you so much for showing my poem in your Editor's picks. I am honored. I lost a younger sister to cancer back in 2021. I have written a couple of things in her honor. I think about her around her birthday, and also in the spring, when she passed.
