Hi there! I am this week's guest editor and the current Quillmistress.
If you have any Quill-related questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
The Quill Awards were founded in 2007 as a way to promote high-quality work and member contributions within the Writing.com community. Here we are sixteen years later and the celebrations continue as we strive to honor the founding principles.
A few 2022 Statistics:
Quills were awarded in over 40 categories and over 60 separate genres!
Exclusive Quill Awards include merit badges, ribbons, and plaques.
Every registered author is eligible to nominate and/or win.
Making a Nomination:
Any registered WdC member may nominate another for a Quill Award.
You cannot nominate yourself.
Nominations are made in secret and nominators are never revealed.
Items nominated for Writing Awards must be written in the current year; January 1 - December 31.
Items nominated for Community Awards must either be created within the current award year or reasonably active.
Nominators agree to keep their nominations secret. Not just for the current award year, but for all times.
Members must not lobby, barter, or trade for their items to be nominated.
Donations and Sponsorships:
The Quills are 100% funded through the support of the WdC Community.
For more information, please see "Quill Donors & Sponsors" .
Announcement of Finalists & Winners:
Ballots close on December 31. Judging begins in January.
Winners are selected by the Judging Committee which are WdC members.
Genre voting is open to the general WdC population.
Finalists and Winners are announced by the end of March.
The Quill Awards is a community effort in so many ways and a wonderful celebration of Writing.com as a whole.
