Letter from the editor

The Quill Awards were founded in 2007 as a way to promote high-quality work and member contributions within the Writing.com community. Here we are sixteen years later and the celebrations continue as we strive to honor the founding principles.

A few 2022 Statistics:
*Bulleto* Quills were awarded in over 40 categories and over 60 separate genres!
*Bulleto* Exclusive Quill Awards include merit badges, ribbons, and plaques.
*Bulleto* Every registered author is eligible to nominate and/or win.

Making a Nomination:
*Bulleto* Any registered WdC member may nominate another for a Quill Award.
*Bulleto* You cannot nominate yourself.
*Bulleto* Nominations are made in secret and nominators are never revealed.

*Quill* Items nominated for Writing Awards must be written in the current year; January 1 - December 31.

*Quill* Items nominated for Community Awards must either be created within the current award year or reasonably active.

*Quill* Nominators agree to keep their nominations secret. Not just for the current award year, but for all times.

*Quill* Members must not lobby, barter, or trade for their items to be nominated.

Announcement of Finalists & Winners:
*Bulleto* Ballots close on December 31. Judging begins in January.
*Bulleto* Winners are selected by the Judging Committee which are WdC members.
*Bulleto* Genre voting is open to the general WdC population.
*Bulleto* Finalists and Winners are announced by the end of March.
