Letter from the editor

For as long as I can remember I've been excited about paranormal stories. I'm not sure what the attraction is; the language, descriptions, the ghosts, I'm just not sure. One thing I know for sure is that when done well, a haunted story can be so creepy it gives horror lovers the willies.

If you want to write a terrifying haunted location story, consider adding some of these elements to the mix.

*Ghost* A Haunted Place (or person)
With a little research, a writer can find loads of information about haunted places in their own towns/cities. This is a good place to start! After gathering some history, write a story about an actual location or create one of your own!

*Ghost* Death
What is the dark history of the place?

*Ghost* Villains
Are they supernatural, alien, and/or human?

*Ghost* Balance the Scares
Every horror story needs some scare, but balance them out, let the reader be surprised when they pop up.

*Ghost* Paranormal Detection Equipment
Only if needed to help move the story and is a necessary prop. If you use these, be sure to know the correct terms and usage of each item.

*Ghost* Darkness
I mean, everything bad happens at night, right? Don't forget to mention the climate which can be very helpful in setting the scene.
