Hi, I'm JACE .
Welcome to this issue of the Noticing Newbies newsletter. Join me as I take you into some nooks and crannies of Writing.Com that you may not have found time to check out yet. This newsletter is about and for you. And for you seasoned members, I hope you'll find something you can take from my ramblings.

But there are also some UN-official newsletters written and maintained by various members or groups for our members. These include the topics of Reviewing, Grammar and Erotica. Take some time to seek out the topics that interest you. I believe it'll be worth your time.
Reviewing: Newsletters written about reviewing were consolidated under the Reviewing Handbook, which can be found under Writing Resources in the Navigation menu. The Handbook contains more than 50 entries on various aspects of reviewing--topics such as Attracting Reviewers to Your Port, Critical Reviews vs. Abusive Reviews, Choosing a Review Group, and even How to Review a Really Bad Item.
These articles were written by members with several years and hundreds of reviews of experience. I've often looked back through the handbook and found some nugget worth using.
Grammar: Grammar is the very basics and structure of a language culminating in the written word, a subject near and dear to us here. Personally, I know a smattering of French, German and Spanish, enough I think that those who know those languages fluently won't cry foul when I use them. I've heard it said that English is among the more difficult languages to learn. After almost 60 years of writing English, I believe it.
To help you with English grammar and syntax, some members have written or compiled articles on grammar for your use. One such library was written and is maintained by Davy Kraken  . A favorite of mine, I visit "Grammarama" often when I'm unsure when to use "Ellipses" , or "Lay vs. Lie" . Grammarama contains 31 entries.
Essays and articles on grammar will most likely be found in members' Portfolios. Perhaps punctuation is your weakness. Check out "Kiya's Big Book of Writing Guidelines" by iKïyå§ama  . There's more than just punctuation there.
Erotica: The archive of almost 200 newsletters in the Erotica genre are maintained by "Unofficial Erotica Newsletter Group" , a group with almost 250 members. Erotica is one of the 96 genres recognized by Writing.Com. From the Greek, Eros meaning love, Erotica portrays human sexuality and sensuality with high art aspirations differentiating it from pornography.
I understand some of you may not be interested in this particular genre. But if you are, the "Unofficial Erotica Newsletter Archive" is the place to find articles on such topics as What is Erotica?, Real Life Inspiration, Fantasy, Erotica vs. Pornography, and Why We Write Erotica.
In fact, for whatever subject or topic you wish to find more in-depth information, type your desire in the WDC Search window, select All of Writing.Com, and press Enter. In the meantime, I hope the information found in these UN-official newsletters will help you in all your writing endeavors.

The people who reviewed me gave me support as well. My first days here in WdC--Eyestar, ruwth, Lornda, SB Musing, Cinn, and Schnujo gave me a warm welcome. I don't know if they remember though since it's been two months now. Mike and Somik also welcomed me to WdC. Heck,  I remember Bride, PrettyPoetry, Silverwindrose, Nikola, and Tina all gave me their support about my doubt in reviewing.
Basically, a lot of people here supported me and I thank them!
