Greetings sindbad Author IconMail Icon!

This is your fourth day port raid as part of you "A Week of Port Raid Package" from "Magical Express Delivery WagonOpen in new Window. gifted to you by your Secret Valentine. May you'll find this review an inspiring and encouraging one.

Without much a do, here are the things I found out after reading your offering:

Your poem's power lies in its stark presentation of suffering. The relentless barrage of images showcasing societal breakdowns creates a disquieting tone. Instead of a traditional narrative or an argument, the poem relies on an accumulation of disturbing moments. These range from large-scale chaos ("malls burning") to chillingly personal violations ("female molested turn mute"). This structure doesn't allow for light or positivity to enter the picture.

The writer, although confronted with overwhelming societal collapse, doesn't look away. This act of observation could be seen as its own form of defiance. Even when feeling powerless ("clipped conscience"), the speaker documents the events, suggesting a refusal to let these traumas be erased or forgotten.

Although the poem itself might not evoke positive emotions, its bleakness could provoke a powerful empathetic response. Readers could be disturbed to the point where they're motivated to take action against the kinds of injustices portrayed. The jarring nature of the poem may even inspire introspection about one's own complicity in similar, even if smaller-scale, societal failures.

Your poem exhibits a painful emotion. However, its unfiltered approach could have merit from an artistic standpoint. Some audiences value an authentic depiction of darkness as it forces confrontation with unpleasant realities. Its refusal to offer false comfort or platitudes can even be seen as a kind of brutal honesty.

Ultimately, this is a great piece. I enjoyed reading it and I learned a lot from this. Thank you once again for sharing your works. Write on!

Best regards,
Gervic
