Wow! What an outstanding writing effort it is! It is a very thoughtful essay, there is no doubt about it. It is not like a newbie writing. I assure you that the author is such a person who observes life very closely. Through those circumstances, the writer can have a lot of experiences.
The prime subject of the writing is how can a word work. In our dictionary, we can find the meaning of the word. But it is too mechanical. We can not get the true sense of that word until use it properly. So we can easily understand that our feelings play a key role in the meaning of the word. It is simply a unique thought.
The subject is very interesting and important. It is critical, too. But, due to your efficiency, it gains tremendous readability. The pace is also very smooth.
You must work on choosing genres:-
Choosing the proper genre is an art. Here, you can choose three genres. The essay teaches us how we find the real meaning of the word. So, it is an educational matter. So your first genre should be 'Educational'.
Now, we will find the second genre. What is the source of your writing? Experience. More precisely, the experience of playing with the words. So, the second genre will be 'Experience'.
Whom do you write for?
Only for young adults?
No. You write it for every reader of writing.com.
So, the third genre will be 'Writing.com'.
Additionally, when do you use the 'Young Adults' genre?
When you write a teenage love story.

Except for genre choosing, you started brightly.
Keep writing.
