Hello, Bhaskar . This is a review from "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group! *Smile* I found this with search word politics "Invalid Item. I have the following comments to offer.

*Quill*Reader Experience

This is the account of a Hindu Indian who served in the Indian Administrative Service regarding religious conflicts in India and especially in the state of Gujarat where various atrocities occurred performed by Hindus and Muslims. He misses the reconciling voice of Ghandi. He mourns the religious conflicts and thinks that we should aim: - "Not to 'convert' people to our chosen faith, but to empathize, understand and accept everyone on the common journey to the higher path and consciousness."

*Quill*Commentary

This is my own reading of what you wrote, as it read to me, feel free to disagree with me.

We agree that we are here to serve a higher purpose and that a lot of religious efforts to bind man to that have failed miserably and indeed with bloody and disastrous consequences. Also, I liked that you shared your first had experience of the events in Gujarat with a hope for peace.

Your perspective is monotheistic and at first, you sounded like a Muslim ecumenical to me reconciling the Abrahamic religions under one Islamic style label. Later it became clear that you had more Hindua perspective but not that of Modi and the Hindutva but rather reaching back to the more reconciling, all paths lead to the same God approach of Ghandi.

To achieve this vision you ignore the clear biblical testimony as to Christ's divinity the Trinitarian nature of God and the efficaciousness of the cross as a final sacrifice for our sins. You suggest the Hindu notion of repeated incarnations of God or indeed the Christian one of a single incarnation has not solved the world's problems and so we should regard the key figures as messengers we have mainly ignored as indeed many Muslims think.

You divide man into three Triune parts according to the naturalistic evolution-based theory of Paul MacLean. A reptilian instinctual part, an emotional form and sequence sector and a higher brain function area. Each was a product of evolution. Those with the most developed brains should help those who are still animals by behavior and thought patterns. You wish that we used our higher functions more.

You mourned the ways in which VHP Hindu nationalists destroyed a mosque and provoked various terrorist incidents by Muslims. Broader incursion in Muslim areas in Gujarat and wholesale demolition of property and mosques occurred under the saffron flag associated with the BJP also. The state police clearly connived with the perpetrators as they do today also in situations like that of Manipur.

I read this thinking you had learned none of the key lessons of the events described. Hindus and Muslims have been killing each other for millennia and the situation was only resolved with the dominance of empire first by the Mughals and then by the British. Under the British, the Muslims were always the greater problem in India causing the bulk of the unrest. Though the abolition of Hindu widow burning for example also caused trouble. Despite that it was and important thing to do. As the British left the murders and indeed wars began again.

Both Islam and Hinduism have a false reading of redemption and Divinity and fail to comprehend the forgiveness and reconciliation that Christ alone has demonstrated first between man and God and then subsequently between man and man. It is Christian civilization that abolished the slave trade, produced the most innovation, and which in Europe has modeled a welfare system that tackles the roots of poverty and social injustice. Only Christianity offer ttrue hope to the untouchables of India. India remains an unequal, divided and increasingly troubled place because of the naive Hindu conviction that all can be reconciled under one roof without definite repentance of sin and real societal changes. As the BJP has increased its grip on power the Hindutva movement has modeled an increased intolerance of alternatives to a Hindu India and despite pretending to respect other religions tramples on the rights of religious minorities like Christians in Manipur. Gandhi was naive and his murder by a Hindu nationalist was a message for the future.

India is increasingly self-confident as it moves from the begging bowl to the cutting edge but the delusionary visions of Hinduism in space generated by those enthused by the recent spacecraft successes of the country offer no hope to resolve the deeper civil strife that these same Hindu nationalists are provoking and indeed illustrate the increased dominance of a deceitful mindset, that is rewriting Indian history into something distant from anything like the facts.
