Hello, Mari McKee , I'm reviewing your piece for "The PET NEWS CONTEST"  as part of "Invalid Item" .

My First Thoughts: When I read the item description, I knew this wasn't going to be the usual "beloved pet" story, so you definitely caught my interest. What I didn't count on, was such a strong "call to action" article. Bravo for speaking up for those creatures that don't have a voice!

My Favorite Part: Including the names of organizations that we can contact to offer support and assistance is a brilliant move. Not only do you ask the reader to do something, but you guide them in the right direction to do so.

My Final Thoughts and/or Suggestions: I noticed that you're missing a quotation mark in the last paragraph, but that's really a small thing. This is an emotionally compelling article and I hope many read it and take action. Or at least pass the information along to others too. Thank you for this piece.
