Throwing It Out There!

"What about the escape pods?", you ask the group, shouting so that your voice is heard over the 'shoosh' of the elevator, and the cracking and breaking of the ship's infrastructure around you.
Anakin and Oni-Wan look at eachother for a moment after you consider this, as though having a telepathic conversation with one another. Your gaze shifts to the Chancellor who looks perplexed at what is happening all around him.
"It could work", Obi-Wan mutters.
"As long as the ship stays more or less intact. Separatist battle cruisers always have their escape pods at the back", Anakin adds.
"Idiots", the Chancellor states under his breath, although you get the feeling that only you heard him.
The elevator harshly comes to a stop with a cracking sound, giving the impression that it may have been forced to stop. The sound of an explosion rings through the ship, putting you somewhat at unease. After a few seconds, a corresponding heavy vibration passes through the elevator, making the walls shake, and you and Obi-Wan lose your respective balances (the Chancellor stays upright because Anakin immediately goes to his side). The elevator door hasn't yet opened since the elevator became stationary and you can see from the look painted across Anakin's face that he is quickly growing impatient. The others must have been too. Anakin activates his lightsaber, and you stand and watch as the blue blade extends from his hilt before being plunged into the door. He quickly yet ever so carefully pulls his saber along the edges of the door, leaving only orange scorch marks where the cut sections of metal are still hot.
"Good thinking Anakin", Obi-Wan states as Anakin works his way around the door.
Once he has gotten the whole way round the metal door, Anakin deactivates his lightsaber, and pushed the door out of places using the force. You stand and watch as as it flies away from its frame, and immediately hear the crunching of metal against metal as the door slams into several droids who had been stood on the other side of the elevator shaft.
"This is our floor", Anakin comments as you all step out of the elevator and I to a corridor which is...
