Then you realize he is really that fat and has been since you first spotted him!

It was really just your insecurities about moving to California, 'land of the beautiful', that were making him into someone leaner - your fantasies were getting in the way of reality.

"Hi there," the stranger said, putting out a broad, pudgy hand, "I'm Perry, welcome to the neighborhood!"

"I'm Pete," you reply, realizing that this guy has to be about your age, and is about your size. "Thanks."
