With an odd, giddy sensation at the realization he meant to go through with his plan, Bryan took a small vial holding a pale green liquid.
"Here goes," he said, upending the container and swallowing the formula.
The formula didn't taste bad. He'd had the forethought to add a minty flavor enhancement, but it left a strange aftertaste.
Of course, he didn't have time to dwell on that as the room began to rapidly grow larger. Everyday objects expanded to unbelievable size.
He knew he was being fooled by his senses, so he closed his eyes until the shrinking stopped.
When he opened them again, he looked out onto an alien world as a man now a mere fourth of an inch tall. He stood, mesmerized for a few moments, but he knew he could not be caught outside the box once his next-door neighbor arrived.
He didn't hesitate, but made straight for the box, where he knew he had clothes and other supplies waiting. He had sealed himself inside the enormous container in plenty of time for Tommy's arrival.
When he felt the box picked up, he knew he was on his way.
