Trevor can't get car started - leaves her t...

"Okay, let's see what I can do here," Trevor said and ducked under the hood of the car. "Can you get back in and try to start the car?" he asked her.

"Alright. You think you can get it started?"

"I'll do my best. I'm no mechanic, but I'm not completely inept."

Anne opened the door to her sedan and sat down in the driver seat. "Should I start it?!" she yelled over the rain.

"Not yet!" Trevor continued to tinker. He was wet and cold, but he had to help her. He had already offered his assistance.

Anne shivered as the remaining heat in her car began to disappear.

"Okay, now!"

Anne turned the key. The car struggled but didn't turn.

"I'll try it again!" Anne yelled. Again, the car wouldn't turn.

Trevor came up to the passenger door. "I'[m sorry ma'am, but I've done my best. I don't want to screw up you transmission or engine or whatever."

His lack of knowledge of proper car terminology left her uncertain that he hadn't done so already.

"I've got to get going."

"Can I come to the lodge with you?"

"I'd really rather you not. I've got some business to take care of, but I guess if you really need a place to stay, you can impose."

Anne was taken aback by his rough language. She couldn't decide what to do.

1. Anne goes with Trevor to the cabin.
