You decide to atleast take a closer look at the materials at hand. The whole concept of a raft is somewhat appealing.
There seems to be plenty of good vines around and a minute of looking results in you finding a fist-sized rock with somewhat of a sharp edge to harvest them with.
Then it's time for the timber, you obviously have no means of cutting down trees. But then again you doubt anyone around here has had the means to do any serious logging either so there should be a few dead trees lying around. And dead wood whether it is dry or rotten should be easy to handle even with just a heavy rock you figure.
Then again you could go for thinner things and instead use a lot of them.
