"Darrian Buck," you hear someone say your name. It is your uncle, and lord of Rivendell, Elrond. "You have decided to go to the lands of Isengard. I bid you farewell, and good luck as well, for you will need it."
"Thanks for the warning, but I could feel in my heart that my decisions are going to have a big impact on me," you explain. "I do not know if I am ready to defend Middle Earth. I do not know if I am worthy."
"Do not be troubled with those lingering thoughts right now. You are definitely worthy, and if you aren't sure that you're ready yet, then your time will come, eventually." Elrond replied. "The only thing is, evil and war do not wait untill you are ready. They strike when it is of the most advatage to them. Your service is greatly appreciated. So Darrian, don't turn back now."
"I would not go back on my own word. I will defend the honor of our family, as well as the people of Middle Earth. You can count on me, Elrond." You respond.
"That is good to hear, it brings me much hope," Elrond said. "Now there is another choice that you must face. We have more than two groups of defenders, which is better than I could have ever wanted."
"How many are there risking their lives this time around?" You ask.
"Plenty," Elrond replies. "There is even more than one group going towards Isengard, but only one will be dealing with Saruman. The Fellowship of The Ring will be going there. Since Boromir is no longer with us, there is a position open..."
You know what it is that he is asking, he wants you to fill Boromir's place. You could never take his place, he was a good man, and a good companion to those in the Fellowship. But you don't want to miss out on a chance like this. A chance to keep honor in your family, a chance to meet some of the most famous and bravest folk of Middle Earth, and also the chance to face your fears.
Elrond sees that you are deep in thought and says, "If you wish to join another group instead, that is all right."
You pull out of your thoughts and reply...
