The Car

"Daddy, can I've a car?" she asked Jack one morning as he was munching on a slice of toast.

He looked at his beautiful little girl and laughed. "You're too young for a car sweetheart", he told her. "But I'll tell you what - when I get back from work, I'll take you for a drive."

"No Daddy, not a real car - a play car."

So Jack brought Clara a Flintstone-style car to play in.

The years past, and soon Clara was sixteen years old. Jack and Matilda couldn't believe how quickly the years had slipped by on them. For Clara's birthday, her parents bought her a car.
