This choice: Run at the bear and attack him from behind • Go Back...
Chapter #4
Counter Attacks
by: piego
With a running start you dive at the bear and attempt to take him down. Your arms reach their intended targets, right behind his knees, but he hardly moves. He roars with laughter as you scramble to get back up off of your belly. Just as you push up off of the ground, he plants a heavy foot firmly between your shoulder blades, pressing you back down to the mat. Your arms and legs squirm and your face contorts in pain as his massive weight squeezes the air from your lungs. He lifts his foot, but you are so badly winded you can barely move. Grabbing your throat, he lifts you up and dangles your battered body a foot off of the ground. He pulls you back and hurls your limp body into the mat. Your body hits the ground with a echoing boom and bounces a little leaving you in a crumpled heap before gravity flops you onto your back. You lie wheezing in a dazed stupor, spread eagle on the floor of the ring. You moan as the burning, throbbing pain begins to register in your mind. Through your wincing eyes you see your burly opponent approach at your legs. He stands over you, planting one foot on either side of your heaving belly. Raising his arms he lets out a deep roar as the crowd cheers wildly. Still panting frantically between his legs, you manage to muster the strength from your trembling muscles to prop your upper body up with your elbows. The bear, still playing the crowd, seems oblivious to your recovery, leaving his more vital areas open for an attack.
