Chapter #5
At the bottom of the staircase
by: Unknown
Dauphin continued to search for Delpheus. She had no wish to investigate the voices that she heard at the bottom of the landing, and it was probably some slaves arguing. Slowly, Dauphin made her way across several hallways in the palace to her brother Delpheus' bedroom. Peering in quietly from the doorway, Dauphin saw that her sibling was nowhere in sight and thus she heaved a sigh. Where was Dauphin's brother? There were many places he could be, and the palace was such a great place. He may not even be in the palace at all!
Dauphin needed answers and she wanted to know why her head hurt so bad but, most importantly, what had happened to her during the battle? She last remembered the siege of the enemy's castle going so well, though Delpheus' pestering certainly annoyed her. Then something hit unfortunate Dauphin hard on the skull and everything had turned into darkness. If anyone had answers, it would certainly be her brother.
Dauphin moved away from her brother's room, and proceeded down the long flight of stairs to a lower floor in confusion. Sure enough, there were two people talking at the bottom of the staircase.
