This choice: He slowly starts growing. • Go Back...Chapter #3Ethan’s growth spurt by: rpdr fan
Ethan jolted awake, drenched in sweat. His room was bathed in the soft morning light filtering through the blinds. He sat up, rubbing his eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of a strange dream. Something felt off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
Swinging his legs over the side of the bed, Ethan noticed that his feet touched the floor more quickly than usual. He blinked, confused. Standing up, he realized he was looking down at his nightstand, a perspective he'd never had before. His heart pounded as he rushed to the full-length mirror.
Staring back at him was a reflection that seemed subtly different. He was taller. Much taller. Ethan measured himself against the doorframe where he had marked his height a few months ago. He was at least four inches taller.
Panic and disbelief flooded his mind. "This can't be real," he muttered, running his hands through his hair. He checked his phone, half expecting to see messages from the girls he'd been juggling, but his notifications were unusually quiet.
Determined to get answers, Ethan threw on some clothes and headed downstairs. His parents were in the kitchen, sipping their morning coffee. They looked up as he entered.
"Morning, Ethan," his dad greeted, then did a double take. "Whoa, you look... taller?"
His mom's eyes widened. "Did you hit a growth spurt overnight?"
Ethan nodded, still in shock. "I guess so. I need to see a doctor."
By mid-morning, Ethan found himself sitting in the waiting room of Dr. Morgan's office. The doctor, a kind, elderly man with a reassuring demeanor, called him in.
After a thorough examination, Dr. Morgan leaned back in his chair, scratching his chin. "This is highly unusual, Ethan. Growth spurts do happen, but not this rapidly or at your age. We'll need to run some tests."
Ethan left the doctor's office with more questions than answers. As he walked through the town, he couldn't shake the feeling that this sudden change was somehow connected to the events of the previous night. The memory of the girls' betrayal and Luna's eerie presence lingered in his mind.
He decided to head to the trendy coffee shop, hoping to find some semblance of normalcy. As he walked in, the familiar dim glow of fairy lights did little to calm his nerves. He spotted Sophia in their usual booth, her eyes widening as she saw him.
"Ethan? You look... different," she said, her voice a mix of curiosity and wariness.
"Yeah, I grew a few inches overnight," he replied, trying to sound casual. "Weird, right?"
Sophia nodded slowly, her eyes scanning him from head to toe. "Very weird."
As they sat down to talk, Ethan couldn't shake the feeling that his life had taken a surreal turn. He glanced around the coffee shop, half expecting to see Ava or Olivia walk in. His phone buzzed, and he pulled it out to find a message from Luna.
"How are you enjoying your new height?" it read.
Ethan's blood ran cold. He quickly replied, "What did you do to me?"
Luna's response was almost immediate. "Consider it a gift. Or a curse. It depends on how you use it."
Ethan stared at the screen, his mind racing. The cryptic message left him with more questions and a growing sense of unease. He realized that Luna's involvement in the girls' revenge plot had far-reaching consequences.
Determined to uncover the truth, Ethan knew he had to confront Luna. He finished his coffee and stood up, his newfound height making him feel both powerful and vulnerable. As he walked out of the coffee shop, he couldn't help but wonder what other surprises the day would bring.
Little did he know, his sudden growth spurt was just the beginning of a series of events that would challenge everything he thought he knew about himself and the people around him. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
