By the time Timmy was done with his appointment, he was sobbing from his flu shot. Miranda was trying to soothe her youngest child while Bobby shadowed the doctor while she examined Phillip. “Well,” Dr. Christi said as she read Phill’s numbers. “I can certainly tell you do a lot of working out, Phill.”
“He’s in training,” Bobby explained. “My Phill will be the star football player this year.”
“I see,” Dr. Christi remarked. “I can certainly tell that all your hard work will pay off. However, have you ever heard of over-training? It can be counterintuitive to your health if you overdo physical activities.”
“We’ll keep an eye out,” Miranda promised while Bobby scoffed.
“Wonderful,” Dr. Christi smiled. “How are you eating, Phillip?”
“Good question,” Bobby agreed as he looked over the doctor’s shoulder at her notes. “I’ve been wondering if we should do more weight training.”
“Actually,” Dr. Christi clarified. “You might want to focus more on his diet. Phill’s weight has been steady over the last few years, but it seems to have reduced in the last few months.”
“I keep telling my husband,” Miranda interjected. “He needs to eat some higher calorie food, or Phill’s going to reduce away to nothing.”
“We need muscle, Miranda,” Bobby argued. “Not fat! When Phill wants to train for sumo wrestling…”
“Why don’t!” Dr. Christi interrupted. “We get a height measurement and wrap this up.” Dr. Christi guided Phill to her scale and took som numbers. “Interesting,” The doctor noted.
“Is something wrong?” Miranda inquired.
“Nothing concerning right now,” Dr. Christi noted. “Just ensure he gets more protein and calories in his diet.”
